Mechanical seals are divided into cartridge-type seals and non-cartridge seals (commonly known as loose seals).

The modular single-face seal is primarily used for slurry circulation pump sealing. It is pre-assembled by the sealing manufacturer before leaving the factory, eliminating the need for customer adjustments—simply install it as is. Installation is convenient, and it’s easy to use.

Non-containerized (bulk) double mechanical seals are primarily used in peripheral desulfurization pumps and require customers to adjust them during assembly, making installation and operation more demanding. While installation remains unchanged, the service life of this type of seal is longer compared to single mechanical seals.

Structural features:

Single-end (double-end) cartridge-type mechanical seal. Easy to install and simple to use. Balanced design with optional rotation direction.

Internal working length is short. The stationary ring features multi-spring external compensation that does not come into contact with the medium.

Applicable medium:

A medium with a high content of impurities such as gypsum and lime slurry.

Work parameters:

Fixed substance content: ≤30%

Warm Temperature: ≤280°C

Press Force: ≤2.5 MPa

Axis Diameter: ≤200mm

Main applications:

This type of mechanical seal is primarily used in flue gas desulfurization systems for coal-fired power plants, and is suitable for absorption tower slurry circulation pumps, gypsum slurry pumps, limestone slurry pumps, and gypsum discharge pumps.

Installation Use Requirements :

1. The radial runout of the equipment shaft should not exceed 0.04 mm, with axial runout not exceeding 0.1 mm;
2. The sealing cavity of the equipment should be kept clean during installation, and sealing components must be thoroughly cleaned. Ensure that the sealing faces remain intact to prevent contaminants and dust from entering the sealing area.
3. During installation, avoid any contact or tapping to prevent damaging the mechanical seal through friction, which could lead to sealing failure.
4. During installation, apply a thin layer of clean machine oil to the surfaces that will come into contact with the seal, ensuring smooth installation.
5. When installing the stationary ring gland, tighten the screws evenly to ensure the stationary ring face is perpendicular to the shaft centerline.
6. After installation, gently push the moving ring by hand to ensure it moves freely along the shaft while maintaining some elasticity.
7. After installation, manually turn the shaft—there should be no sensation of unevenness or heaviness.
8. Before starting operation, the equipment must be fully charged with the medium to prevent dry friction, which could lead to seal failure.
